There are music videos and then there are works of art. I'm willing to place I/O's "Wasted My Time" video, and first from his mixtape Isolation, into the latter category. Forgoing the traditional narrative structure, I/O and director BRTHR instead aim for the abstract, with I/O seemingly fighting off time and himself. To further illustrate the clip's trippy concept, time is actually personified in the video as a force that at times sits with him, at other times (literally) pushes him and in other instances torments him. However, it seems that the song's message of time being an illusion rings true and it's actually himself that he has to worry about (at least, I think that's what being said). Even if the clip's message isn't clear, what is apparent is that the video is mesmerizing to watch. Check it out and feel free to speculate about what it means in the comments.
