Full Crate & Papa Ghana Take Us To 'L'Afrique'

SoulBounce fave Full Crate and Papa Ghana team up for the trippy, electro-house, Afro-Dutch collaboration that is "L'Afrique." The Dutch rapper, with Ghanaian roots (go figure), is best known for mixtapes with his group L'Afrique Som Systeme. Papa Ghana's music is inspired by his love of fufu, which he affectionately mentions in one song, "Ghana vs. Nigeria," and styles such as afrobeat, coupe decale, kuduro, grime, dubstep, electro and hip hop. Full Crate is a modest yet powerful Dutch producer known for his smooth collaborations with crooner Mar. While listening to "L'Afrique," definitely flick the lights on and off in your room or at your desk and (spoiler alert) don't miss the unanticipated chopped and screwed section that sneaks up on you in the middle. We're definitely feeling sprinkles of South African house, a stripped afrobeat and a hint of garage. After "DVMSKO" and "Ghana vs. Nigeria," Papa Ghana's third single "L'Afrique" helps him on his journey to his upcoming debut, The Mandingo EP. This track is reminiscent of a Dutch beer (i.e. Heineken) and jollof rice pairing -- pretty good.
