Saidah Baba Talibah's "High" is a straightforward, commanding R&B vocal performance. Sounding like a cross between Emeli Sandé and early 2000's Res, Saidah's simplistic music video for the track allows listeners to focus on what is important -- her voice. The video features Talibah dancing in the shadows, striking dramatic poses and talking to her seemingly invisible significant other. The lyrics may come off generic, but there is no doubting the intensity of the song. Saidah has been around for a bit, even being named Bounce-Worthy on these very pages in 2011. She's currently crowd-funding resources via Pledge Music to get her next project, RedBlack&Blue, made, and she's almost met her goal with a few days left. Hopefully her effort with "High" will be enough to aid her in surpassing her fundraising goal and deliver even more impressive efforts in the future.
