Don-E, Omar, Carl McIntosh, Junior & More Deliver A 'Spiritual' Slice Of Soul Music

It's been a while since we heard from British soul heavyweight Don-E, however he is gearing up to release a new album, Little Star, this August, and he has called on fellow British male soul stars to give a helping hand on the album's lead single, "Spiritual." Now having eight, yes eight, voices on one track may seem like overkill -- and in most cases I'd have to agree -- but excitement levels peaked here at SBHQ when we saw exactly who was featured on the song. Alongside the man himself we have Omar (who co-wrote the song), Carl McIntosh (of Loose Ends), Junior "Mama Used To Say" Giscombe, Noel McKoy, Leee John of Imagination, '90s soul singer Rick Clarke and Paul Johnson. It's been a while since anyone heard most of these guys on record, so it's definitely a welcome return for all. The track itself is a mellow slice of modern soul, with the eight voices blending seamlessly while maintaining a sense of individuality. Download "Spiritual" now via iTunes, and look out for Little Star when it's released on August 20th.
