We have a little while longer to wait for Ice Cream Everyday, the hotly anticipated fifth solo album from songbird Amel Larrieux, having now been pushed back to October. We have already heard the album's infectious lead single "Afraid," and we got a glimpse at the album's retro-inspired artwork and full tracklisting and now, to tide us over until the set officially drops, Amel has sat down with Global Grind to discuss the project in detail. In the interview, Amel explains what she has been up to in the six years since the release of Lovely Standards, the inspiration behind the new album's title, hooking up with her old Groove Theory partner Bryce Wilson and the story behind a picture that Questlove Instagrammed of them attending high school prom together.
