José James' No Beginning, No End is easily one of our favorite albums of the year so far, so the fact that he is continuing to promote the LP to the max, most recently with his Come To My Door EP, is welcome news. Last week we focused on Taylor McFerrin's take on the EP's title track, but FaltyDL's rework of the Hindi Zahra-featuring "Sword + Gun" also deserves some shine. The urgently paced original was one of the album's many highlights and FaltyDL maintains everything that made it great in the first place, however with the addition of some clattering percussion, re-jigged vocals and a runtime that exceeds seven minutes, consider this another addition to your "Essential José James Remix Collection."
