Laura Mvula Crowns KING The Opening Act On Her US Tour

Though this morning was marred by news of musical legend George Duke's untimely passing, one bright spot on this otherwise somber day comes by way of SB faves KING, who took to Twitter to announce that they would be opening for the lovely Laura Mvula when she heads stateside for a spate of dates in September. Mvula, whose debut album Sing to the Moon has been a mainstay on my iTunes since its March release date, confirmed the announcement by retweeting KING's tweet and adding that she "can't wait." The short-but-oh-so-sweet tour kicks off in Brooklyn on September 4th before wrapping up in the city of Angels on September 17th. As excited as I am about this pairing, I'll be the first to admit that these ladies need to give the people what they want and add some more dates to this tour that'll take them below the Mason Dixon line. But since beggars can't be choosers, I'll count my lucky stars that the tour is happening in the first place. In the meantime (KING pun 1000% intended), several of us at the SBHQ will get to selling whatever we need to to make sure we make it to these shows.
