'Sometimes' You Just Need A Little Nikki Lynette

Chi-town artist Nikki Lynette wears many hats. Singer. Songwriter. Producer. Emcee. Writer. She's mostly noted for her humorous and thought-provoking blog posts, impeccable flows and for working alongside such notables as Dwele and GLC, among others, but this time out she's pushing aside the rhymes to do a little ol' fashioned crooning. With production by long-time collaborator Matthew Hennessy, Lynette lays down some insight on "Sometimes," a guitar-laden track that has her comfortably in an R&B meets alternative soul state of mind. Letting her guard down in the lyrics, Lynette may enjoy her state of independence, but she still vies sometimes that having someone near and dear is worth having instead of going the rocky roads of life alone. Girl, I feel you. Unfortunately this cut won't be featured on her upcoming EP Respect My Disrespect, but we can still covet it by pressing play below or purchasing it through iTunes for a low price.
