Janelle Monáe Does Her 'Dance' On 'Saturday Night Live'

As we told you she would almost a couple of week's ago, Janelle Monáe took the Saturday Night Live stage for the first of what's sure to be many more times over the weekend. And while the singer didn't flex her comedic chops in any of the shows skits (though heaven knows they could've used the black female representation), she showed up and showed out during her two performances on the stage. Performing "Dance Apocalyptic" and "Electric Lady," the petite dynamo wowed the audience as she shook and shocked all over the black-and-white stage in only the way she can. Both performances were very high energy, but she where she really let loose was with "Dance Apocalyptic," where she encouraged the audience to freak out over the surf rock/R&B hybrid. As she bopped and bounced across the small stage, she soon decided that the space wasn't enough, taking her performance closer to the cameras and giving the audience at home an eyeful. If you perhaps had something more important to do than stay up late and watch TV, head after the bounce to see Electric Lady No. 1 give the people what they want.
