It's been nearly three years since British songstress Rox dropped her solid debut LP Memoirs. In the interim she has made the move from London to Berlin and spent time honing her craft -- I can vouch she was already pretty sharp having seen her perform live twice -- and now she has returned with what I am assuming is the lead single, or at least a taster, of a new project. "Kryptonite" is a mellowed-out slice of soul with Rox showing her vulnerable side as she sings about the effect her man has on her. This is a much more stripped back sound compared to the mix of reggae, pop and R&B that featured on Memoirs, and it's definitely a progression for the better.
