Do you hear that? That's the sound of DJ Vadim remixing Prince's "If I Was Your Girlfriend" in a way that stays true to the classic but smartly deals with the cumbersomeness of the full five-minute song. All that sexy tension, all that yearning of the original is still there, with DJ Vadim expertly amping up certain sounds here and cutting certain sounds out there, all while keeping the juiciest morsels in tact. Gone is that skit that comes towards the end song, as well as many of the parts where Prince is speaking instead of singing. The result is fire. The fact that this refix is free only sweetens the deal.
