Janelle Monáe Brings Some 'Electric' Heat To 'Arsenio'

Still coasting on a high from her playful and peerless performance at BET's Black Girls Rock!, Janelle Monáe kept the momentum afloat as she stomped her way on to Arsenio last night to perform her latest single, "Electric Lady". As with every Monáe performance she always gives a 110%, and though this time out she wasn't as rabble-rousing as Sunday's BGR! feature, there was still fun and a lot of femme power to be had as Monáe even weaved in a little backsliding (aka 'Monáe-walking') to spice up the set. To catch her breath, she also took time to have a chat with Arsenio Hall where she explained the story behind the creation of her moody collaboration with good gal pal Esperanza Spalding "Dorothy Dandridge Eyes," and like Mr. Hall mentioned, there is always a little bit more to the poetics that Monáe waxes and we should read between those lines and take note. So if you can't get enough of that electric stuff then Monáe-walk yourself after the bounce to peep the performance and check the partial interview.
