Mayer Hawthorne's Where Does This Door Go has been in heavy rotation at SBHQ since its release in July. There are so many gems on this collection, but my favorite track is by far "Wine Glass Woman," which takes Mayer's soul-revisionist styling and adds in Pharrell Williams' earthy, open tones. Quentin Harris, superstar house producer who has scored great remixes of songs by artists like Mariah Carey and Justin Timberlake to name a few, has used his talents to add a new twist to this groove. Quentin takes the track from a chill house party vibe to a packed house club's dance floor with a sped up tempo that allows Mayer's voice to float across the melody. Wherever this retouching finds you in your day, it is sure to energize so have a soul clap ready.
