Since shrugging off his surname it looks like Javeon (McCarthy) has found a new lease of life. The PMR-signed artist is following in the footsteps of his labelmates and crafting potent dance/R&B hybrids with a hefty dose pop that should crossover to the mainstream if the radio programmers pay attention. The MNEK produced "Lovesong" hasn't left regular rotation on my iPod since it dropped back in May and now he has unleashed his latest track "Give Up" to ensure the Christmas party season goes off with a bang. Javeon and producer Tourist have managed to blend lyrical depth, irresistible beats and a catchy-as-hell hook on a track that will hopefully get this talented up-and-comer the shine he deserves.
