When the guest list for the follow-up to Janelle Monáe's critically acclaimed The ArchAndroid leaked, jaws dropped at the staggering cast -- with appearances from Erykah Badu to Solange to Miguel, Esperanza Spalding and no less than Prince himself. With a lesser artist, such a star-packed guestlist could be construed as a nervous reliance on the star power of others.
