'Nobody' Did It Like Keith Sweat At The Soul Train Awards 2013

The Soul Train Awards -- and most award shows like it -- are known more for the performances than the actual awards given out. However, on occasion the two collide, which is what happened last night when Lifetime Achievement Award winner Keith Sweat put in one of the hottest performances of the Soul Train Awards 2013. The man who turned the "B" in R&B from "blues" to "begging" came on stage to collect his award then launched into a medley of his hits. People love to clown Sweat for his lack of vocals skills, but he's been doing something right since his breakout debut in 1987. In case you forgot how Keith puts it down -- and he surprisingly is a pretty good live performer -- he performed "Don't Stop the Love," "Make It Last Forever" with duet partner Faith Evans who strolled on stage looking like a bag of money, "Nobody" and "I Want Her." This was a fun performance that reflected the energy of the late '80s and early '90s when these songs were shiny and new.
