With the onslaught of Christmas music, the surprise attack of Beyoncé and my revisiting of Janet Jackson's janet. for our Class of 1993 series, I've been kinda musically overwhelmed. Enough so that I almost completely missed the latest gem from criminally slept-on crew The Internet. Though their Feel Good was easily one of the best musical gifts to be given this year, many folks still haven't answered their wake up call. It's the sleepyheads' loss, however, as Syd the Kid, Matt Martians and crew keep on with the quality sounds. Their latest, "Timeless," finds them colliding with another group, L.A.duo NickyDavey, for a smooth groove about getting lost in the sheets with that special someone. Sounding as easy as a Sunday morning thanks to a mellow bass guitar riff, funky rhythm guitar flourishes, un-fussy keys and stacked vocal harmonies, this one's a surefire winner and further proof that The Internet is only getting better with time.
