Warren G, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick & Big Daddy Kane Rep Hip Hop At The Soul Train Awards 2013

How do you cap off a stellar night of music and performances? By letting a few hip-hop legends run loose on the stage to get the crowd hype. Rap legends Warren G, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane did just that at this year's Soul Train Awards. Warren G kicked things off right with his 1994 classic "Regulate" as images of his fallen homie Nate Dogg flashed on the video screens. Then hip-hop OG (and one of the show's producers) Doug E. Fresh taught the audience how to really Dougie with Cali Swag District in tow as he got the crowd on their feet. The hits didn't stop there, though, as Kane shut things down when he took the stage. Performing a quick piece of "Smooth Operator," he soon cut to the more dance-heavy track "Warm It Up Kane" and busted out the fancy footwork he was known for. Slick Rick the ruler finished up the set, rapping his classic "Children's Story" before being joined on stage by Doug E. for their hip-hop holy grail "The Show." Even with Darrin Henson (it seems producer Boris Kodjoe got almost all of his Soul Food cast mates tickets to the show) busting every single one of his dance grooves out for the cameras, "The Show" was effectively the showstopper, ending an already great night on an even higher note. Peep both Warren's G-Funked up offering and the show-closing old school medley right here.
