Chromeo & Toro y Moi ‘Come Alive’

Super smooth operating duo Chromeo have hinted that a new album from them is on the way as singles such as “Sexy Socialite” and “Over Your Shoulder” made appearances last year. Though no word on if White Women will materialize this year, I’m swayed to think it’s a definite possibility due to the release of their latest track, “Come Alive.” By far of the three latest singles, “Come Alive” is the sure-fire winner as it glides in on early ‘80s sophisticated disco-funk that should make Average White Band or Michael McDonald mighty pleased at the homage and make “Get Lucky” quiver in its platforms. The addition of Chaz Bundick (aka Toro y Moi) on vocals also makes me wonder why this alliance never happened before, as Bundick just vocally swoons all over the place, merging with Chromeo’s vintage sound feast seamlessly in order to make a groove prime for dance floor cruising or champagne sipping on a yacht with all the beautiful people.
