'Fall In Love' With Phantogram

Folks may be familiar with Phantogram from their Big Boi collaboration "CPU" taken from 2012's Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors (or the 2.0 re-boot we featured a couple of weeks back), but the duo are no strangers to the music game themselves, having already released a full-length LP and five EPs. February 18th will see Josh Carter (vocals, guitars) and Sarah Barthel (vocals, keyboards) release their latest album, Voices, and based off of our first listen of lead single "Fall In Love," SoulBouncers may want to check it out. Phantogram have been described as "synth-pop" and "electronic rock," but such labels are far too restrictive as "Fall In Love" also incorporates synthesized string work and vintage-style soulful vocal samples that have more in common with today's alternative R&B scene. The black-and-white video that accompanies the track adds to the song's interest, featuring both Sarah and Josh set against some stunning visual effects. This is definitely one to add to our "albums we need to hear" list.
