Taking a breather from the spiked dance beats on her latest set Little Red, Katy B takes a stab at a cover of UK Garage duo Sweet Female Attitude's 2000 single "Flowers" and caters a surprise. Usually Katy B's vocals take a backseat to all the hi-NRG that shoots out of her tunes, but for "Flowers" she let's them drive in front and takes the one-hit-wonder into a spin of soft piano-laced balladry with enough sentiment to be crammed on a candy heart. Hearing Katy B getting her torch on is a treat, and actually she should bring her voice forward more often especially if she can evoke sincere sweetness like this.
