If you thought Pharrell's "Happy" was a little too precious, then strap yourself into the cosmic collision that is !llmind's "Rose Tint BoomTrap Remix." On the heels of !llmind's latest EP, BoomTrap, the producer decided that Pharrell's current joyful noise needed to have its claws come out, and boy, do they scratch. I'll admit, I'm not much of a fan of it all being chopped and screwed with enough glitches and "trappyness" that you can stuff into a Pharrell Dudley Doo Right hat of secrets, it sorta takes away from the warm, harmless hug that brought even Lupita Nyong'o and Meryl Streep out of their seats to dance along to last week. So tampering with "Happy" to turn it into a zig-zagging experimental piece is just something I'm personally not feeling, even though I understand the intent. So if you're one of the ones who is sick and tired of the still going strong #1 single and wish that it sounded edgier, then by all means, fall into the aural claptrap.
