Take A Listen To The 'First Song' From Tensnake's New LP

We brought you a taste of German producer Tensnake's debut album, Glow, last week with the Jacques Lu Cont/Jamie Lidell-assisted "Feel of Love." We were impressed with his blend of modern dance and '80s nostalgia, especially after also taking a listen to his Nile Rodgers collaboration, "Love Sublime." Glow is now available in its entirety, and we can safely say it's well worth a few dollars of your hard-earned money, as he deftly covers disco, soul, R&B, funk, house and pop across the set's 16 tracks (17 if you count the remix of "Love Sublime" from Duke Dumont). Although it seems vocalist Fiora is Tensnake's real muse for this project -- featuring on seven cuts -- he also finds time to collaborate with British rising star MNEK for the album's opening track, appropriately titled "First Song." Clocking in at only 2.5 minutes and not featuring any real lyrics to speak of, it might be more appropriately labelled as an "intro," but Tensnake's icy cool synths and MNEK's glorious ad-libs set the scene for what's to come further along the line.
