Whatever stage he steps on, Charlie Wilson turns up and turns out, and his appearance on BET's Celebration of Gospel 2014 was the latest example of his performance prowess. Dressed like a dapper deacon in an all-white suit and accompanied by a gospel choir, string section and band, Uncle Charlie began with a performance of "If I Believe," which can be found on 2013's Love, Charlie album. The performance was chill to match the tone of the song, but with Wilson seated at a clear glass piano with neon lights and his name etched on the side,  you knew there was more coming.

Charlie didn't disappoint as he began to testify and give viewers the Cliff Notes rundown of what he's come through to get where he is today. He mentioned everything from starting his career with The Gap Band to being homeless and addicted to crack cocaine before his life was saved. He may have hit bottom, but now he's here and he has God to thank.

Uncle Charlie performed with a vim and vigor of a man half his age. He ran across the stage, danced like David and kicked off his shoes all while singing in full voice and not the least bit winded. Tye Tribbett even joined him on stage at one point and could barely keep up. This Charlie Wilson revival was the high point of an already incredible Celebration of Gospel.
