Pharrell Williams Puts A 'Smile' On Our Faces

Pharrelll Smiling Profile

With hits tumbling out of his ears and being smack dab in the middle of a career renaissance, it's no surprise that Pharrell Williams has every reason to be smiling these days. He can add to this list the fact that his latest album, G I R L, has been officially released in Japan today. And of course, as it usually happens with Japanese releases, there's a bonus track that the rest of the world didn't get to hear, the aptly named "Smile." The happy-go-lucky tune finds Pharrell and his falsetto keeping the sunshine-y vibes going as he sings about a girl whose love brings a smile to his face. Hi-hats and piano dominate this uncomplicated ditty, with occasional blasts of synth horns and a very brief instrumental break. It's plain to see why this didn't make it to the main event, but it's a nice enough little groove to keep us all cheesing pretty hard through the day.
