What happens at "2AM" stays on Adrian Marcel’s mind. Raphael Saadiq’s protégé is back with a new video for the single, which gives us a hint at what he’s been up to. The Bay Area artist teams up with The HBK Gang’s Sage the Gemini who lends his bars for the cause. In the song Marcel sings to a potential significant other (read: bae) to bring her girls to the party where he and his boys await their presence. The venues in some cities like Washington, DC pretty much shut down at 2AM, so we’re not really sure what’s open after…but we can imagine. The lyrics are pretty direct, the request is basic and the song is a bubblegum club banger for the young at heart.
The video, directed by Martin Estevez, has everything you'd expect for a song like this: bottles, women, swanky club venue, more bottles, more women and the obligatory lap dance scene in an abandoned garage. It's possible Adrian is trying to fill in the blank while a certain crooner whose initials are CB, remains on lockdown until the summer.
