Rather than issue the surprise album she implied was coming during her Billboard interview (then retracted just as soon as the news broke) diva Mariah Carey had just gone ahead and given us the title, tracklist and both the regular and deluxe edition covers for the set. Called Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse (even typing that makes my eyes roll), the regular version of the album will be a 15-track affair and include appearances from friends Miguel, Nas, Wale and Fabolous.
For you Lambs that want a bit more of Mother Mimi, the deluxe edition will include three additional songs, "It's a Wrap" with Mary J. Blige, "Betcha Gon' Know" with R. Kelly and the previously released "The Art of Letting Go" (which, if you're, keeping score here, was supposed to be this album's title track before the eternally 12 40-something went all Charmbracelet on us again).
Based on the performance of previous singles "#Beautiful" and "You're Mine (Eternal)," we here at SBHQ can't say that folks will be too excited about this news as it doesn't seem that anticipation for new Mariah is very high. But then again, it is Mariah, the best selling artist of the '90s and a music legend, so you never know. Are you guys ready for "the elusive chanteuse"?
