Things got real funky on The Queen Latifah Show when our favorite daytime show got a blast from the past today with musical guest WAR. Known in the '70s for mixing soul, Latin, jazz, blues, reggae and rock, the band performed their hit single "Why Can’t We Be Friends." A different member of the band sang each verse, while comedic duo Cheech & Chong also served as honorary band members. The song, which is about unity, brought Queen Latifah'saudience to their feet to dance in unison to the infectious song. By the way, did you spot OWN TV’s Golden Sisters getting their groove on?

After a 20-year hiatus, WAR, who is back together for a good time and good music, have a new album, Evolutionary, that includes a remastered edition of the band's Greatest Hits collection from 1976. They're also currently on tour with their compadres Cheech & Chong. You can pre-order WAR's Evolutionary on iTunes and Amazon, and, of course, watch them get down with the get down on The Queen Latifah Show right here.
