You didn't think that our SoulBounce Remixed series was over did you? Quite the contrary, and after a little pause we have some more exclusive surprises of the remixed variety on the way this month. And since we don't like to keep our beloved SoulBouncers waiting, here's the first, a new refix made just for us by SoulBounce fave and fam Applejac.
Having previously blessed us with one of our first SoulBounce Remixed remixes with his flavorful house makeover of YahZarah's "Change Your Mind," Applejac has laced us lovely once again with another reworked banger. This time around he set his sights on Daley's single "Broken" and refashioned it for "Applejac's SoulBounce Refix." Taken from his debut album Days + Nights, "Broken" in its original form is a big pop song filled with strings and a driving drum beat. Being the phenomenal house producer/remixer that he is, Applejac couldn't resist taking "Broken" for a twirl and transforming it into something for the dance floor to superb results. Applejac took the "Broken" a cappella and rearranged, flipped and blended it like a master chef, with the original music stripped away and replaced with a cognac smooth, four-on-the-floor house rhythm. "Broken" was a good song before, but Applejac's refix is the shot in the arm that it needed to bring a groove to it and extend the shelf life as Daley's impassioned vocals stand out and sound even more soulful set to this beat.
