Just before 2013 came to a close, Dutch chanteuse iET (pronounced eet) gave us an audio/visual preview of things to come with the release of “Hold On Tight.” For the next few months, she and five-time GRAMMY Award-winning producer Russell Elevado (D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, The Roots) carefully completed the work on her LP, four years in the making.

With this week’s debut of the new album, So Unreal, a special video for the lead single was essential. For this, the singer/songwriter turned to acclaimed artists Frank van der Steen and Jamel Armand to bring the song to life on screen. The result, brought to us in living color, is a psychedelic trip reminiscent of an ever-changing Rorschach test. (The duo also directed a couple of videos for the Dutch band, DI-RECT. Notice anything familiar?) Psychoanalysis aside, iET’s vocal ability is thankfully still the center of attention here. Serving up a funky slice of blue-eyed soul (in the vein of Nikka Costa), the multi-talented artist has definitely given us something we can sink our teeth into.

Sit tight and check out the video right here. Then head over to her website or SoundCloud for a full stream of the entire album (available for purchase on iTunes or vinyl).
