It Was Jennifer Hudson's 'World' At BET Awards '14

One of the few highlights of the BET Awards '14 belonged to Ms. Jennifer Hudson. There is no denying that the woman is talented and can vocally knock any of her peers out of the ring with her powerhouse voice. But sometimes our girl J.Hud has a tendency to scream and shout at decibel levels that can be a bit much. However, Jennifer tucked away any over-singing last night and she sounded -- and looked -- amazing.

Opening the performance with a verse from her Timbaland-produced single, "Walk It Out," Jennifer turned heads in the audience as she sashayed down the venue's center aisle dressed in a hot little leather dress and rocking fly short haircut to match the edgy look. When she arrived on stage, Jennifer picked up the pace as she debuted her new single, "It's Your World." With this new track following the first single "I Can't Decide," it appears as if Jennifer is venturing into disco, which is not a bad look for her at all. To set the mood, the stage was lit up like a disco ball with flashing lights while a roll bounce crew of skaters grooved along to the beat.

The only part of the performance that was a bit corny was when a thugged-out pretty boy, who resembled everyone's new #FelonCrush Jeremy Meeks, stepped on the stage for Jennifer and every other woman (and some men, too) to admire. He definitely provided some eye candy, but his mean mugging didn't match with the happy mood of the song. Now if would he would have busted out into a mean two-step, then maybe his presence would have made some sense.
