Lisa Stansfield of “All Around the World” fame has been pushing her latest album Seven -- her first in a decade -- since last year. The UK-released set’s latest video for the single “So Be It” is the newest offering in a slate of so-far solid songs.
Looking particularly ageless and with a voice as strong as the days of “All Woman” and “Never, Never Gonna Give You Up,” Stansfield croons over a melody that would make Al Green jealous. Her message is an uplifting one about not making apologies for being “what I am.” To complement that, couples of multiple variations, families of different hues and individuals too unique to be defined shimmy, laugh and play in front of a portrait studio screen.
“So Be It” is all about positive vibes, confidence and feeling good in general -- all traits that can be associated with the blue-eyed soul diva who was out of the game for far too long.
