Jesse Boykins III
THEN: Jesse Boykins III was a 23-year-old, up-and-coming R&B star we he caught our attention back in 2008, after his EP, Dopamine: My Life On My Back, dropped and just before his debut album, The Beauty Created, was released. His distinctive vocals and ability to flow from one genre to the next set him apart from his peers but made his addition to our Bounce-Worthy roster a given.
NOW: In the six years since we've been following Boykins' career, his hair has gotten bigger, his discography has gotten longer and his star has continued to rise. The singer/songwriter/producer released the EP, Way of a Wayfarer, in 2011 and finally blessed fans with an LP this year with the long awaited Love Apparatus collection. In between projects, the solo artist has also had some killer collaborations with Theophilus London, MeLo-X, The Internet and The Foreign Exchange. In addition to his musical endeavors, Jesse has most recently been tapped by Bergdof Goodman to flex his style in a print ad for the luxury retailer.
