K. Michelle is rolling out the red carpet for her next album Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? with promos galore for the project in advance of its December 9th release. After premiering the clip for "Love 'Em All" last week, the latest look is a lyric video for new single "Maybe I Should Call."
This set of visuals is actually a cross between a typical lyric video and an actual music video as K. Michelle is coming at us live and direct here singing the words as they fade in and out. K. peacefully appears on screen mouthing the lyrics about wanting to reach out to an old flame who's started a fire with someone else while the camera moves from left to right. Early in the song we find out that not only has the man moved on while K. is pining over him, but he has a baby on the way and is baby mama is in the way. K.'s feelings are torn to shreds, but she just can't let go and we see the tears fall which belie her icy cool.
It's quite a messy situation set to music, but one that is very real. With gossip surfacing that AWBAH is entirely about K. Michelle's alleged affair with ex-lover Idris Elba, who recently had a baby with his main lady, this song takes on a deeper meaning and adds fuel to the rumors.
