R&B's latest It Girl, Tinashe, has had an impressive 2014 with the success of her single "2 On," the release of her surprisingly non-ratchet debut album Aquarius, collaborations galore and the announcement of her first headlining tour. The good news doesn't end there for the 21-year-old singer/songwriter. Tinashe was handpicked by pop music darling Lorde for a coveted spot on the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which the young New Zealander has curated.

Tinashe's contribution to the collection is the track "The Leap," which finds her delicately singing about the devastating aftermath of a breakup that has left her feeling numb. The cause of her angst has moved on and left her behind in ruins trying to figure him/them out. With its brooding, synth-heavy production and sparse instrumentation, the song sounds as if it would have fit in perfectly on Aquarius. That album's loss is this soundtrack's gain, which be in stores on Tuesday, November 17th in advance of the film hitting theaters on Friday, November 21st.
