Detroit producer/composer/arranger/multi-instrumentalist Brandon Williams gave us a few glimpses into his soul star-studded album XII over the past year. From the Jean Baylor-assisted lead single “Stronger” to “Now I Know” with Jesse Boykins III and Robert Glasper, Williams let it be known that his album would not be one to miss. Fortunately for us all, this past November saw the album finally hit the streets and surpass our expectations with even more super strong moments like this sweet new jam entitled “Make Believe.”

This jazzy number finds Williams joining forces with songstress Debórah Bond and fellow musician Bamm Davis for a little bit of fantasy and fairy tale. Bond sings of the love of her life that may or may not be aware of the intense relationship that he is involved in. “So even if it’s in my mind / I’m thinking we should spend some time / I’ll just visualize / It’s no crime,” she sings sweetly. Beyond the fun lyrical content and Bond’s ever-so-smooth vocals, this track is a musical journey within itself and proves that Williams’ XII album is certainly following in the footsteps of Robert Glaspers’ Black Radio collections. But don’t just take our word for it, grab your very own copy of XII off of iTunes or Bandcamp today.
