While we at SBHQ had hoped to get our paws on Jazmine Sullivan’s new album, Reality Show, by now, there is still unfortunately no release date. While we impatiently wait, we will just have to make do with the music video for the searing second single, "Forever Don’t Last."

Sullivan's extraordinary vocals on this soulful ballad make it the perfect ode to getting rid of dead weight, and she drops it just in time for those 2015 New Years’ resolutions. The video opens with a breathtaking view of lush mountainsides. The camera shifts to a horse stable where we see stunning Sullivan clad in a simple dress, cowboy boots and floral crown, recounting the story of a love that long ago lost its shine while her equine companion looks on.

Amid images of lasting love of her real-life grandparents and heartwarming flashbacks to actors playing them in their younger days, she sits on a bearskin rug crying as she realizes that “forever doesn’t last too long these days” and recalls her broken relationship. The lyrics tell a cautionary tale of not getting so caught up in the good times that you forget the reality of a doomed romance.

The video ends with scenes of a sexy Sullivan in a gorgeous white, mermaid-style wedding gown singing her heart out before a defiant, cigarette-smoking, all black-wearing Sullivan burns that same wedding dress in a campfire along with the remnants of her love that didn’t last forever. It's powerful imagery captured by Jazmine, her mother and Eshon Burgundy who all co-directed this well-done visual.
