Mary J. Blige Sings 'Not Loving You' In '1 Take' & Talks 'The London Sessions'

Mary J Blige Not Loving You 1 Mic 1 Take

Mary J. Blige is keeping her promotional grind going as she continues to push her recently released The London Sessions album. After giving us the tear-jerking video for “Whole Damn Year” and celebrating her GRAMMY nomination with Disclosure, Blige is continuing the journey by unleashing a simple yet powerful video for “Not Loving You.” She’s taking on the piano-driven ballad in just one take and with one microphone but with a boatload of passion and emotion. Mary is beautiful. The song is beautiful. There’s not much more to it than that, nor does there need to be. The “Not Gon’ Cry” singer has certainly grown into her own and is stepping into a much more refined lane, visually and vocally, and it’s quite a lovely thing to watch.

If yet another video wasn’t enough for you, Blige took a minute to sit down with Stephen Hill for a Q&A session with famed New York radio station Hot 97. Hill and audience members asked all the right questions, which led to us all getting a further look into The London Sessions and what happened behind the scenes as the album was being made. “I felt like I needed to step out and give my fans something different, give myself something different,” Blige said regarding the album. Get into the passionate new video for “Not Loving You” and Blige’s chat with Stephen Hill, and be sure to grab your copy of The London Sessions off of iTunes now.
