Before 2014 packed its bags, Teedra Moses dropped off her soulful EP California Vibes. The five-track project is an easygoing drive down a West Coast boulevard, with Teedra spreading her infectious love and admiration for whoever or whatever occupies her heart at the time. Whether it’s with the laid-back title track “California Vibes,” the radio-ready 2013 single “Can’t Be Luv” or the steamy “Something Real,” there really is something for everyone on the appetizer EP. Her collaboration with J. Black and Rebekah Muhammad makes “Open Still” a frank diary read about Teedra’s vulnerabilities. With production from the likes of Trackademicks and Thaddeus Dixon and honest lyrics from the songstress, California Vibes was exactly what we needed to hear from Teedra. A worthy addition to her catalogue, this soulful EP solidifies the fact that Teedra will always be a shining star in our musical constellation. -- Mercy
