Shortly after midnight on Thursday, Mali Music was a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers where he performed the powerful and affirming song, "I Believe." In the beginning of the performance, Mali kept things simple as he sung the first verse and chorus with just him and his keys. His vocals were not as strong as to what we are used to hearing, however, his passion and conviction about his faith were heartfelt, especially by the second and third verses when the music picked up a bit with a guitar and drums.
It's nice to see this talented artist perform on a national television show in front of a new audience that is probably not too familiar with his music. We have a feeling that Mali will be enjoying even more exposure now that his album Mali Is... has been nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category. He's up against some stiff competition, but we're secretly hoping that he shocks everyone and takes home the statue. We'll be tuned in to the GRAMMY Awards to see, but right now tune into Mali gracing Seth Meyers' stage right here.
