T-Pain Wants You To Know It's 'Okay To Smile'

TPain OK To Smile

We can pretty much get used to T-Pain singing sans Auto-Tune and he's made that pretty clear with his NPR Tiny Desk performance and now his "Nappy Boy Unplugged Summit," where he takes to YouTube and sings with just a microphone and keyboard. This week, T-Pain was strumming his pain away with the song "Okay To Smile," dedicated to anyone who has recently lost a loved one. After losing his grandmother almost two weeks ago, he gets sentimental in the R&B track where he sings, "But I see the bright side / And I know it's okay to smile now / You gotta feel the light side / Every once in a while." While under frown-worthy circumstances, he still manages to turn it upside down and find his smile and we can only be happy about this.

T-Pain is making his unplugged performances a staple. He just released "Say" last week, which also features the singer doing his own background vocals and ad-libs. We guess he's promoting and gearing up for some serious content on his forthcoming album, Stoicville: The Phoenix. While we wait, watch T-Pain and his beautiful dedication to his grandmother right here and let us know if it moves you to smile.
