Way back in 2011, a lifetime away in terms of music, three ambitious and talented young women released a three-song EP full of lush, heavenly harmonies and soulful melodies. Then, just as quickly as they were critically-acclaimed, the trio faded back into obscurity. They would turn up here and there, at an intimate performance or backing up another musical artist, and return from whence they came. Then, they would release two more songs in anticipation of a full length album. An album we are still waiting for with baited breath. And don’t think naming one of the songs “In the Meantime” slipped by us.
We love them Lord knows we do, but we are weary of KING teasing and taunting us like the sirens of myth. We understand that quality takes time. We understand that you are an independent group, doing everything from writing the music, to the production, to the business side, to sweetening your own Kool-Aid. Most of all, we understand that this album will be worth the wait. Just please, please make 2015 your year to shine and finally claim your crown. -- Ken Hamm
