Quincy Wants To Be 'Friends First'

Quincy Friends First Still

It looks like Quincy is showcasing his maturity in his latest single “Friends First,” which also features rapper French Montana. The single, which was released in early December last year, is prepping us for his debut album that we can expect to be released later this year. The 23-year-old is well on his way to following in his father Al B. Sure!'s footsteps, but just like the song's message, it’ll take him some time to get there. In the track, Quincy croons about taking things slow and not rushing into a relationship. "If it's okay with you / I just want to cruise / And get to know you better," he sings. Sounds like a bit of reverse psychology to us, but what do we know?

In the video itself, Quincy gives us his sexiest gaze while vixens he supposedly wants to befriend flank him. French chimes in mid-track to help supply the rap to Quincy's R&B. His verse adds nothing but some club-ready fluff, which in this case isn’t terrible, just unnecessary. Honestly, it’s not a spectacular video, nor is it complex in any way, which is also the best way to describe Quincy's voice. Luckily he has stepfather Diddy on his side to show him the ropes and guide him in the industry.

If you like what you're hearing and feel the same way as Quincy, you can get the single on iTunes or go ahead and watch him friend zone the ladies in the video below.
