Songs with that Missy Magic: “Cold Rock A Party”

Rap legend MC Lyte was riding high off of her song on the Sunset Park soundtrack, “Keep On Keepin’ On,” and released the Bad As I Wanna Be album in 1996. However, the rest of the album wasn’t getting the same kind of love. She hit up the remix king at the time, Puff Daddy (or Diddy as we now know him) and got a Bad Boy remix to “Cold Rock A Party” featuring one Melissa Elliott. The song took off and became Lyte’s second biggest single ever. Lyte later enlisted Missy for three tracks on her next album, Seven & Seven. However, nothing matched the success of their initial collaboration.
