Though yesterday may have just been March 9th to some, for hip-hop and music fans worldwide, it marked 18 years since Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G., left this earth. To mark the somber occasion, fans and celebrities alike paid tribute to the late, great rap legend. Among the countless homages was this epic freestyle from Kendrick Lamar. The emcee, who was the first guest on radio personality Big Boy's new 92.3 FM morning show in Los Angeles, dropped more than a few hot bars over such Ready to Die classics as "Warning," "Respect" and "The What."

Showcasing his craftsmanship, Lamar effortlessly proved why he's one of the best there is, going off the top for nearly seven minutes straight. At one point, towards the end, he even asks for addiitonal time to spit some more. Displaying his usual quick wit and razor sharp tongue, Lamar managed to name drop fellow artists Devin the Dude, Kurupt, James Brown and Snoop Dogg while also speaking of Christianity, politics and the downside of the industry.

Putting lesser rappers to shame wasn't Lamar's only reason for stopping by the show, however. He also talked a bit about his as-yet-untitled CD, set to drop March 23rd. As we anxiously await his third project, sit back and take in this fine display of lyricism.
