The last we heard from Kenny Wesley, he was "Missin' You" with a colorful lyric video that we world premiered back in November. Well, needless to say, we've been missing him ever since he moved from the United States and headed to Germany last fall. Wesley has taken up residence in Berlin, and he's loving life over there in Europe. The Washington, D.C. area will always be his adopted home, however, and he's currently back for a brief visit and a few very important performances.
On Saturday, March 21st, Kenny Wesley will be opening for the one and only Maysa at the Howard Theatre. Then on Sunday, March 22nd Kenny will really flex his vocal muscles at Bohemian Caverns for two shows. These won't be just any shows, though. Kenny Wesley is recording a live album at Bohemian Caverns on Sunday at what is guaranteed to be a phenomenal set of performances. Those who've already seen Kenny perform live know that he comes alive on stage with a cool fusion of soul, R&B, funk and jazz and his enviable range. Not only will concertgoers be treated to Kenny's lovely live stylings, but he'll be accompanied by vocalist Amma Whatt and other special guests. We don't know who these guests will be, but with all of the talent in the DMV, we imagine that they will be very special indeed.
Both the 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. shows are almost sold out, so if you want to be there for this memorable occasion, you'll need to purchase your tickets ASAP to be in the building. Tickets for both shows are available on the Bohemian Caverns website, and if there are any left, they'll be on sale at the door.
In other news, this SoulBounce fave is about to become SoulBounce family with his upcoming artist blog that will debut here later this month. This new blog will follow Kenny as he travels to foreign locales, makes new music discoveries and shares his Soulful Nerd tales. We're excited to welcome Kenny on board and can't wait to read and, of course, hear more.
