M.I.A. Waxes Political In 'CanSeeCanDo'

The last time we heard from M.I.A. was last July, when she released "Gold" with Partysquad and also announced that she left Roc Nation. The raptress returns with the just released "CanSeeCanDo," and the new single is a club banger with a message. You already know the Sri Lankan artist only releases music with a purpose, and in this track she's pontificating as she sings, "Some people see planes / Some people see drones / Some people see a do and some people see a don't / Can see can do / Can we get past history?/ Wanna make a future with you." With interchanging drums and bass accompanying the singer's signature vocals, "CanSeeCanDo" can easily get stuck in your head.

M.I.A. is an unapologetic artist and sh*t-starter and all over this infectious beat. She also released the track with a message: "DEMOCRACY CONVERSATIONS ! TAMILS ARE STILL WAITING ! AND NO MY BEATS ARE NOT BETTER WITHOUT MY POLITICX." (It was more recently changed to, "SMOKE AND JAZZ AND SAXOPHONE GONA GET MY SADE ON.") As you can see she is a fan of all caps and making a statement, which she always accomplishes through her music.

We look forward to hearing more from the politically-inspired songstress this year and, based on her Twitter account, it looks like we may have to wait until the summer. Until then, listen to "CanSeeCanDo" and let us know if you'll let M.I.A. lead the revolution in 2015.
