Though spring hasn't quite sprung just yet, these longer days and (slightly) warmer temps can only mean one thing -- festival season is nigh. The Roots have kicked things off with a bang with the reveal of this year's lineup for their annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.
Now in its eighth year, the festival's lineup has grown with each passing year, and this one is no different. Featured performers include SB regulars such as Erykah Badu (backed by the Legendary Roots Crew no less), The Weeknd, Hiatus Kaiyote, Moses Sumney, Hudson Mohawke and Phantogram. Afrika Bambaataa, King Britt, Raury, Rae Sremmurd, A$AP Rocky, DJ Mustard and a host of others are also set to take the stage at Philadelphia's Festival Pier on May 30th. To accommodate the ever growing event, the Roots crew are adding another stage this year, bringing the grand total up to three.
Limited advance tickets for The 8th Annual Roots Picnic will be available for pre-sale beginning Thursday, March 12th for only $45 plus Ticketmaster fees from 12 p.m. ET to midnight. They won't last long at that price, so we'd suggest you make your way to your computer if you plan on checking out this glorious lineup. After the pre-sale is over, tickets will go on for real sale on Friday, March 13th. For more information, visit the Roots Picnic website.
