Ahmed Sirour Invites Us To ‘Say Yes Once More’ With His Floetry Remix

floetry-floetic-era

With Floetry, our favorite British neo-soul girl group from the early 2000s, poised to make their triumphant return this summer, what better time for us to “Say Yes" for old time's sake? And who better to help us do that than Brooklyn-bred producer and SoulBounce fam Ahmed Sirour? He’s never let us down, with remixes of everything from Pharrell Williams"Happy" giving that song even longer legs on our playlists than it had before to his Stevie Wonder mash-up paying proper homage to the living legend. Now Sirour does it again with "Say Yes Once More." Crafted a week before Floetry announced their reunion tour, we think Ahmed, as usual, is a step ahead of the game.

“Say Yes Once More” doesn’t stray too far away from the vibe and flow of the original. It is a jazz cover with live instrumentation, better for throwing something on in the middle of the day to relax instead of inspiring some bedroom action. While not reinvention by any means, Ahmed Sirour has crafted a pretty nice groove that helps us remember why we loved the group -- and his productions -- so much.
