Peter John Bellote and Giorgio Moroder

The second production duo to try to work their magic for Janet Jackson was the team of Peter John Bellote and Giorgio Moroder. The duo is most known for their innovative and influential production work during the height of the disco era. Bellote and Moroder helped to incorporate electronic sounds, drum machines and synthesizers into modern music, and are often credited as all but creating techno and EDM. They also discovered the Queen of Disco, Donna Summer, and worked with acts such as Elton John, Queen, Shalamar and Led Zeppelin.

For all their star power, however, Bellote and Moroder failed to help Jackson shine. Dream Street was almost a dead end for the artist. Despite producing six out of the nine tracks on the album, the project failed to make a dent on the charts and stalled at 147 on the Billboard Hot 100. Critics found the album to be nice and entertaining, but largely forgettable.
